Zeebox is a mobile app for companion devices e.g. iPad, iPhone, Tablet PCs, Laptops etc. It creates an integrated link between a Smart TV and the consumer via their own devices. They have taken on board the idea of Smart TV, created a social TV app and brought it to the consumer market. After downloading: the user is able to sign in via Facebook and connect to their Smart TV. Once connected they are free to start browsing what is on TV, much like an interactive TV guide. Friends will pop up commenting on what they are watching, this creates the basis of social TV. You can click on a comment made by a friend and it will bring up a page with information relating to the specifc programme/film. Tweets, comments, programme information etc will become available, you can switch to watch the same program at the click of a button- the app will act like a remote for your Smart TV. It makes TV more social, integrates friends TV tastes and allows peoples to share and love TV together.
'Find programs to watch in an all new way'- Zeebox allows users to look at a list of what friends are watching and browse what programs are popular amongst friends, see what is being watched currently, the latest watched programs, as well as recommendations and much more.
'My friends get to see that I'm watching this program' - Zeebox shares your information for you, at the click of a button you can change to a new program and it will automatically reset you 'watching now'.
'When you watching TV your always looking for new information' - Zeebox collaborates all the information you need regarding a program for you, they are organised in a section called 'Zeetags'. They are live updates and update as you watch, so you will never miss any information. For example if a song was to come on it will appear as a 'Zeetag', From this tag it will open up a page devoted to the topic with tweets, apps, internet links and so on. You are able to browse and interact on a companion device without interrupting the program at all, no part of the TV has to be devoted to this information because it is in your hand via your tablet/phone/laptop.
'Watch TV with friends'- Zeebox allows TV to become an experience that you can easily share with friends, have conversations/debates as you would on the sofa in your living room with anyone, anytime.
